FDC Assault Advisory | November 16 - 20, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

BUSHNELL, Fla. – On November 18, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Sumter Correctional Institution.

Inmate Calvin Dickerson (148644) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:20 a.m. Inmate Dickerson became combative, striking the officer in the face with his elbow. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Dickerson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE CITY, Fla. – On November 19, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.

Inmate Colin Harris (P58524) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:34 p.m. Inmate Harris struck the officer several times with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Harris will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


OKEECHOBEE, Fla. – On November 19, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Okeechobee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Samuel Carter (R06158) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:08 p.m. Inmate Carter became combative, striking the officer in the upper torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Carter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LIVE OAK, Fla. – On November 19, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Brian Doeinck (949914) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:50 p.m. Inmate Doeink kicked the officer several times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Doeinck will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
