FDC Assault Advisories | October 3 - 9, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LIVE OAK, Fla. – On October 4, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Frank Richberg (315567) assaulted the officers at approximately 9:38 p.m. Inmate Richberg struck one officer in the chest and bit the other on the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Richberg will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


JASPER, Fla. – On October 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Correctional Institution.

Inmate Pablo Cisneros (T81936) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:09 p.m. Inmate Cisneros struck the office in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Cisneros will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On October 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Charlotte Correctional Institution.

Inmate Demetrius Jackson (B05693) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:05 p.m. Inmate Jackson struck the officer in the face with a broom handle. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Jackson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE CITY, Fla. – On October 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.

Inmate Peter Yakin (L72696) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:46 p.m. Inmate Yakin struck the officer in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Yakin will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


SNEADS, Fla. – On October 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee East Unit.

Inmate Travis Fletcher (Y27806) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:50 p.m. Inmate Fletcher became combative, hitting the officer in the head multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Fletcher will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


INDIANTOWN, Fla. – On October 8, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Martin Correctional Institution.

Inmate Dekevious Burton (C04293) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:38 a.m. Inmate Burton kicked the officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Burton will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE CITY, Fla. – On October 8, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Columbia Correctional Institution.

Inmate Diango Gonzalez-Malonet (C09046) assaulted the officers at approximately 1:55 p.m. Inmate Gonzalez-Malonet struck one officer in the face and chest and kicked the other in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. Inmate Gonzalez-Malonet will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CHIPLEY, Fla. – On October 9, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Northwest Florida Reception Center.

Inmate Jose Maldonado (188971) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:54 p.m. Inmate Maldonado struck the officer in the face multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Maldonado will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
