FDC Assault Advisories | April 11 - 17, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LIVE OAK, Fla. – On April 11, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Frederick Glover (U23103) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:15 a.m. ET. Inmate Glover grabbed the officer’s hand and attempted to pull it through a cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Glover will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MAYO, Fla. – On April 11, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Mayo Annex.

Inmate Edwin Demps (196863) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:55 p.m. ET. Inmate Demps head-butted the officer in the forehead. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Demps will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BUSHNELL, Fla. – On April 14, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Sumter Correctional Institution.

Inmate Anthony Graves (T62693) assaulted the officers at approximately 5:45 a.m. ET. Inmate Graves kicked the officers in the lower extremities. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted minor injuries. Inmate Graves will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. – On April 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Calhoun Correctional Institution.

Inmate John Hills (731496) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:14 a.m. ET. Inmate Hills struck the officer in the back of the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Hills will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


OCALA, Fla. – On April 14, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida Women’s Reception Center.

Inmate Michelle Hunter assaulted the officer at approximately 10:49 a.m. ET. Inmate Hunter struck the officer in the torso with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Hunter will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MILTON, Fla. – On April 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Annex.

Inmate Anthony McBride (211465) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:50 p.m. CT. Inmate McBride kicked the officer in the knee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Staff examined the injured officer and noted a swollen knee. Inmate McBride will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MAYO, Fla. – On April 15, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Mayo Annex.

Inmate Omar Santiago (J52235) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:30 p.m. ET. Inmate Santiago kicked the officer in the groin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Santiago will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CLERMONT, Fla. – On April 17, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.

Inmate Quantez Ealy (C03113) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:58 p.m. ET. Inmate Ealy kicked the officer torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Inmate Ealy will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – On April 18, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hardee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Derrick Fulton (J01833) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:05 p.m. ET. Inmate Fulton struck the officer in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries and a possible broken nose. Inmate Fulton will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
