FDC Assault Advisories | January 31 - February 6, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

MILTON, Fla. – On January 31, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Allen Pullen (M37913) assaulted the officer at approximately 4:50 a.m. CDT. Inmate Pullen was having restraints removed when he pulled away from the officer, injuring the officer’s hand. The inmate became compliant without further incident.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Pullen will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On January 31, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison West.

Inmate Aron Galloway (U13345) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:20 p.m. EDT. Inmate Galloway became combative and struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Galloway will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MAYO, Fla. – On February 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Mayo Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate Nicolas Walker (J26757) assaulted the officer at approximately 8:44 p.m. EDT. Inmate Walker grabbed and scratched the officer’s wrist. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted a scratched forearm. Inmate Walker will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On February 2, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Charlotte Correctional Institution.

Inmate Johnathan Mix (R52485) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:00 a.m. EDT. Inmate Mix became combative and struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Mix will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MAYO, Fla. – On February 2, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Mayo Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate Marcus Wilcox (G09759) assaulted the officers at approximately 10:25 p.m. EDT. Inmate Wilcox became noncompliant and struck one officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate. During this time, another officer was poked in the eye by the inmate.

Inmate Wilcox will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – On February 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Wakulla Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate Cody Oxendine (S32880) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:53 p.m. EDT. Inmate Oxendine pushed a cell flap down on the officer’s thumb. Staff responded appropriately and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Oxendine will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LIVE OAK, Fla. – On February 4, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Vondelvan Bozeman (B12759) assaulted the officer at approximately 1:46 a.m. EDT. Inmate Bozeman grabbed the officer’s hand and pulled it through a cell flap. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Bozeman will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE CITY, Fla. – On February 4, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate James Lawyer (069688) assaulted the officer at approximately 12:39 p.m. CDT. During a cell search, Inmate Lawyer struck the officer in the face and head multiple times. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted bruising and swelling to the face and a laceration to the jaw. Inmate Lawyer will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
