FDC Assault Advisories | January 3 - 9, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On January 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Larry Roberts (T36592) attacked the officer at approximately 11:47 p.m. EDT. Inmate Roberts was about to be searched when he struck the officer in the groin. The inmate became compliant without further incident.

Inmate Roberts will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On January 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Reception and Medical Center West Unit.

Inmate Mario Priester (L20572) attacked the officer at approximately 12:10 p.m. EDT. Inmate Priester grabbed the officer by the throat, and staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Priester will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE CITY, Fla. – On January 3, an inmate assaulted correctional officer at Columbia Correctional Institution.

Inmate Charles Petit (M08090) attacked the officer at approximately 2:13 p.m. EDT. Inmate Petit became combative and struck the officer multiple times in the head and torso area. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Medical staff examined staff and noted injuries. Inmate Petit will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On January 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Reception and Medical Center.

Inmate Marcus Bullock (T16526) attacked the officer at approximately 3:00 p.m. EDT. Inmate Bullock used his fist to strike the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Bullock will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


INDIANTOWN, Fla. – On January 6, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Hamilton Correctional Institution.

Inmate Danny Brandon (U04946) attacked the officer at approximately 11:00 a.m. EDT. Inmate Brandon used a homemade weapon to scratch the officer’s hand. The inmate became compliant without further incident.

Inmate Brandon will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CLERMONT, Fla.– On January 6, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.

Inmate Peter Samonas (E41654) attacked the officer at approximately 6:30 p.m. EDT. Inmate Samonas kneed the officer in the groin, and staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Samonas will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MILTON, Fla. – On January 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Annex.

Inmate John Knight (699111) attacked the officer at approximately 1:20 p.m. EDT. Inmate Knight struck the officer in the mid-section, and staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Knight will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


FLORIDA CITY, Fla. – On January 7, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Dade Correctional Institution.

Inmate Richard Doss (921633) attacked the officer at approximately 5:40 p.m. EDT. Inmate Doss struck the officer on the side of the head. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.

Inmate Doss will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
