RMC Paw Camp Graduation to be held at Reception and Medical Center Work Camp

If you would like to attend, please contact the Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of Communications as soon as possible at (850) 488-0420. Attendees will need to complete and submit a media access background form. No video or photos may be taken without prior consent and approval of Department staff at the event.

WHAT: Media representatives are invited to the RMC Paw Camp graduation ceremony. The RMC Paw Camp program brings together rescue dogs from the Lake City Humane Society and inmates from Reception and Medical Center Work Camp for obedience training. Graduating dogs are crate trained, housebroken, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and micro-chipped.

WHY: Through programs like RMC Paw Camp, the Department of Corrections is focusing on teaching inmates valuable job skills that will lead them to productive jobs and law-abiding lives upon release.
COMMUNITY PARTNER: The Lake City Humane Society adoption fee is only $40. Adoption forms may be obtained by calling the shelter at (386) 752-3191.
