Inmate Attacks Correctional Officer at Loxahatchee Road Prison
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – An inmate attacked a correctional officer Saturday evening at Loxahatchee Road Prison.
Inmate Calvin Osborne (B12491) attacked a correctional officer at approximately 11:30 p.m. Inmate Osborne was seen with contraband and ordered to release the item. The inmate took an aggressive stance and struck the officer in the face, taking the officer to the ground. Additional staff responded and assisted the injured officer by bring the inmate into compliance and placing him in hand restraints.
The injured officer was examined by medical staff who noted an abrasion to the wrist and elbow.
Inmate Osborne will receive a disciplinary report for this assault. The Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General will investigate this incident.
An Assault Advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
