Inmate Attacks Correctional Officer at Hardee Correctional Institution
BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – An inmate attacked a correctional officer Sunday afternoon at Hardee Correctional Institution.
Inmate Eddie Duncan (014770) attacked a correctional officer at approximately 1:20 p.m. Inmate Duncan, while being placed in hand restraints, swung a closed fist and hit the restraining officer in the face. Another officer responded and inmate Duncan became compliant.
The injured officer was examined by medical staff who noted a scratch to the chin.
Inmate Duncan will receive a disciplinary report for this assault. The Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General will investigate this incident.
An Assault Advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
