Inmate Assaults Correctional Officer at Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex

JASPER, Fla. – An inmate assaulted a correctional officer Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate Korian Dunkley (L04493) assaulted a correctional officer at approximately 1:45 p.m. While being counseled for disorderly conduct, inmate Dunkley became combative and attempted to strike the counseling officer in the upper torso. The counseling officer and another responding officer then brought inmate Dunkley into compliance.

The injured officer was examined by medical staff who noted a lacerated chin.

Inmate Dunkley will receive a disciplinary report for this assault. The Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General will investigate this incident.

An Assault Advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
