FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS ANNOUNCES NEW PRESS SECRETARY
~McKinley Lewis joins Department of Corrections Communications Office ~
Tallahassee, Fla.— The Florida Department of Corrections today announced McKinley Lewis as the new Press Secretary for the Department’s Office of Communications, effective September 22, 2014.
“We are very pleased to welcome McKinley Lewis to our team,” said Jessica Cary, Communications Director. “He contributes valued public relations skills to our office that aptly serve its goal of providing accurate, transparent and timely information about the Department of Corrections.”
In addition to skills gained through previous employment at the Florida Department of Health, Lewis’ experience includes grassroots advocacy, public affairs, media relations, and strategic public relations and digital marketing campaigns.
Lewis received his Bachelor of Science in Communication degree from Florida State University, where he majored in Public Relations and minored in Political Science.
