Reporters invited to Department of Corrections Fallen Officers
Memorial Ceremony in Crawfordville

Wakulla County, Fla.- Reporters are invited to attend the Fallen Officers Memorial ceremony on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time) at the Harry K. Singletary, Jr., Training Academy (formerly the Wakulla Training Academy) in Crawfordville at 110 Melaleuca Drive, Crawfordville, FL 32327-4963.

The Department will be recognizing our employees who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the State of Florida, as well as those who died while on duty.  On that day, we will pause to remember the lives of Colonel Greg G. Malloy of Holmes CI, Sgt. Ruben Thomas III of Columbia CI, and Behavioral Specialist Kirk A. Cummings of Union CI.  The Department will also pause to remember those who have previously been honored.

Directions: From I-10 take Exit 199 (US-27 South) through downtown Tallahassee, the town of Woodville (US-363, Woodville Hwy) and across the Leon/Wakulla County line. Turn left onto Commerce Boulevard (first paved road on left after the County line). Go approximately 4½ miles on Commerce Boulevard and turn right on Melaleuca Drive. Academy will be on your left.
