Reporters Invited to Breakfast and Tour of Wakulla Correctional Institution March 7, 2012

Community leaders and members of the news media are invited to a Community Advisory Board Breakfast and Facility Tour of Wakulla Correctional Institution (CI) that is sure to offer insights into the mission and goals of Florida's largest state agency.
Wednesday, March 7. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. in the Wakulla CI Harry K. Singletary, Jr., Training Academy building followed by an informational presentation, and concluding with a guided tour of the institution. The event will conclude at 12 p.m.
This event is intended to bring community leaders together, to give them a greater understanding of the prison system while providing them with an overview of the Wakulla facility and its operations.  During breakfast, information will be provided highlighting how the facility operates. Presenters will focus on Wakulla CI’s extensive efforts to prepare inmates educationally, socially and vocationally for  re-entry into society, explaining how the department uses  risk-reduction strategies to reduce recidivism.
