Search of Offenders' Homes in West Palm Beach/Palm Beach Gardens Area Nets Three Arrests, Confiscation of Eight Firearms, Drugs
On June 28, 2011 the Circuit 15-3 West Palm Beach Probation Office conducted a joint operation with the Palm Beach Garden Police Department to search the homes of sex offenders, post release offenders, violent offenders, suspected gang members and drug offender probationers.
The teams conducted 21 searches, resulting in three arrests and confiscation of eight firearms, a large supply of ammunition, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and steroids. Circuit Administrator Rosalyn Baker and Regional Operation Manager Thomas Sharrard assisted in the search and Sharrard discovered a loaded firearm at one offender’s residence. This discovery led to the arrest of an offender without incident.
Department of Corrections probation officers frequently team up with local law enforcement on these sweeps, which routinely result in the removal of deadly weapons and drugs from our streets, and the arrests of offenders who choose to violate their supervision requirements.
Special thanks to the following staff for their participation: Gwenette Newbold, Barbara Barber, Ernie Williams, India Snell, Michael Jackson, Luis Trinidad, Cezary Kwasiborski, John Panos, Lionel Samuels, Michael Cohen, members of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department and volunteer Jessica Cinicolo, who participate at the command post.
