Accomplishments in FY 1998-99
- Streamlined the accounting system by reducing the number of accounting codes as part of the department's realignment.
- Implemented the Electronic Data Interchange and Invoice Tracking System in the Ft. Lauderdale Service Center. Vendor invoices are received, approved, and processed for payment electronically, thereby eliminating paper flow.
- Added a web page for accounting bulletins issued after July 1998, providing for increased accessibility by department personnel and eliminating the need to copy and mail documents statewide.
- Implemented the Inmate Bank/Cashless Canteen System for Community Work Release Centers to include subsistence, transportation, restitution and cash draws and eliminated the need to maintain an obsolete 1980's inmate banking system.
