Doctoral Internship Program
in
Clinical Psychology

Benefits

The Internship stipend is $50,000 based on 1900 hours of work paid at the rate of $26.31 per hour. Interns will be paid by direct deposit, bi-weekly. Florida has no state income tax. An additional 100 hours of approved professional development experience away from the facility is required to successfully complete the internship. These 100 hours may include attendance or participation in conferences, dissertation preparation or defense, engaging in relevant research or other professional activities. These professional development hours will occur at locations outside of the Florida Department of Corrections facilities and may be unpaid or compensated by accrued leave time provided by the private healthcare vendor, based on applicable criteria.

In addition to competitive pay, employment with Centurion of Florida, LLC offers additional benefits. These include the opportunity to purchase health insurance and other products for the intern and their legal dependents, eight (8) paid State holidays, and paid time off (PTO) that accrues at a rate of 6.15 hours per 2- week pay period. It is this accrued leave which can compensate the 100 hours or professional development activities. When professional development time is taken, any existing PTO balance will be utilized before unpaid leave is given, consistent with Centurion, LLC leave policies.

Internship related expenses will include the cost of a specific type of lab coat to be worn during clinical duties and the $35.00 membership fee for student membership in the Florida Psychological Association. Based on availability of resources, timing, and other factors the internship participates and, in some cases, provides trainings at other institutions throughout the training year (e.g., the Florida State Prison and Lake C.I). Additionally, the program has had unique training opportunities to attend Florida Psychological Association chapter meetings, Florida Board of Psychology meetings and/or other training experiences that arise during the year. Interns are encouraged to carpool for convenience and cost avoidance and often interns choose to travel in their own vehicle. In any event, interns are expected to provide their own transportation as needed. Interns are also expected to provide their own transportation when traveling to other facilities to complete their assigned secondary rotation (i.e. Lowell Annex, FWRC).
