Media Invitation to Career & Internship Fair at FSU

Local FDC correctional institutions and probation staff join multi-agency career and internship fair at Florida State University.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – TThe Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) invites interested media to attend and interview local FDC leadership about pay increases, benefits and to learn more about incredible opportunities available with the agency.

WHAT:

FDC is participating in FSU’s Seminole Futures All Majors Career & Internship Fair at the Tucker Civic Center which connects current students to potential employers.

WHY:

FDC offers numerous career opportunities for college students and recent graduates. Staff will be in attendance to share information on recent pay increases and targeted retention incentives for correctional officers and correctional probation officers. The new annual baseline for correctional officers and probation officers is $20 an hour. Including benefits and retirement, the total compensation amount for correctional officers and correctional probation officers is over $70,000 annually.
