UPDATED: Inmates Evacuated from Gulf Correctional Institution Return to Facility
WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. —Today, The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) announces the safe return of approximately 1,700 inmates who were evacuated from the facility on March 8, 2022, due to a nearby wildfire.
All inmates are accounted for, safe, and well. Individual inmate locations will be updated on our website within 24 hours.
