FDC Assault Advisories | August 31 – September 6, 2021
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Northwest Florida Reception Center: On August 31, Inmate Michael Simpkins (D37582) assaulted two officers by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On September 1, Inmate Michael Wilson (R50580) assaulted an officer by pulling their hands through the cuffing port. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Apalachee Correctional Institution: On September 1, Inmate David Howard (284734) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Union Correctional Institution: On September 3, Inmate Jahzan Garcia-Vasquez (N90613) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Everglades Re-Entry Center: On September 4, Inmate Trenton Johnson (L87088) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Wakulla Annex: On September 4, Inmate Hunter Isaacson (G27246) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Avon Park Correctional Institution: On September 5, Inmate Deandre Guyton (P63118) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
New River Work Camp: On September 5, Inmate Earnest Crawford (523383) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
