FDC Assault Advisories | March 2 – March 8, 2021
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Hardee Correctional Institution: On March 2, Inmate Edward Brown (M57932) assaulted an officer by striking their hand against the cuffing port. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Homestead Correctional Institution: : On March 2, Inmate Renee Johnson (E28773) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Lake Correctional Institution: : On March 2, Inmate Rydwanullah Malik (W10946) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Walton Correctional Institution: : On March 3, Inmate Tywon Greer (M73248) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Lawtey Correctional Institution: : On March 4, Inmate Nygil Hudson (W39388) assaulted an officer by striking them with his elbow. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Avon Park Work Camp: : On March 6, Inmate Joshua Corker (W43231) assaulted two officers by striking them multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Charlotte Correctional Institution: : On March 7, Inmate Thor Bahrman (J20563) assaulted an officer by striking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Taylor Correctional Institution: : On March 7, Inmate Dustin Elsbury (G19705) assaulted an officer by pulling their hands through the cell flap. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
