FDC Assault Advisories | March 13 – March 19, 2020
This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.
Santa Rosa Annex: On March 13, Inmate Larry Hayes (C08413) assaulted an officer by grabbing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On March 13, Inmate Andre Gomez (U29864) assaulted two officers by striking them in the face with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Lowell Annex: On March 14, Inmate Alicia Jahalal (L78302) assaulted an officer by throwing an object and grabbing their wrist through the food port. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
New River Work Camp: On March 14, Inmate Malcolm Love (075122) assaulted an officer by grabbing their upper torso area. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Walton Correctional Institution: On March 17, Inmate Allen McGriff (126091) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Apalachee Correctional Institution East: On March 18, Inmate Abner Cajuste (B09673) assaulted an officer by sexually assaulting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
Suwannee Correctional Institution: On March 19, Inmate Fernadito Carpio (X81705) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Columbia Annex: On March 19, Inmate Ray Flores (B60101) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
