FDC Assault Advisories | November 5 – November 11, 2019

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On November 7, Inmate Tyrell Hall (C11195) assaulted multiple officers by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

New River Correctional Institution: On November 7, Inmate Keon Lynch (J02321) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Columbia Correctional Institution: On November 7, Inmate Marcus Brown (148448), Louis Harris (M96113) and Troumaine Harris (N22849) assaulted multiple officers by punching, elbowing and headbutting them in the face and torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmates were subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On November 8, Inmate Joseph Dittmyre (C09458) assaulted an officer by attempting to shove them to the ground. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On November 9, Inmate Peter Gatlyn (L74214) assaulted an officer by biting them on the hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Mayo Annex: On November 10, Inmate Tommy Johnson (S06425) assaulted an officer by kicking them on the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
