Visitor Contraband Interdiction | October 8 – October 14, 2019
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.
DeSoto Annex: On October 13, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of narcotics and synthetic marijuana inside the institution. The visitor was arrested for introduction of contraband.
Northwest Florida Reception Center: On October 13, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a large amount of narcotics inside the institution. The visitor was arrested by the Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of the Inspector General for trafficking narcotics. Click here for the release and affidavit.
Walton Correctional Institution: On October 13, staff discovered a visitor attempting to conceal a package of contraband tobacco inside the institution. Their visitation was terminated.
