FDC Assault Advisories | July 30 – August 5, 2019

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On July 30, inmate Robert Porter (L23632) assaulted an officer by punching them in the face multiple times. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Suwannee Work Camp: On July 30, inmate Gabriel Gomez (N14628) assaulted an officer by headbutting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Reception and Medical Center: On July 31, inmate Jose Denis (405992) assaulted an officer by striking them in the groin area. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Reception and Medical Center: On July 31, inmate Willie Cook (084154) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg and torso. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On August 1, inmate Jonathon Peavy (K86510) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lake Correctional Institution: On August 2, inmate Johnnie Barr (670358) assaulted an officer by scratching them on the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lake Correctional Institution: On August 2, inmate Edward Walsh (211101) assaulted an officer by throwing a book, striking them on the arm. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Martin Correctional Institution: On August 2, inmate Jean Touze (X68253) assaulted an officer by scratching their arms. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Annex: On August 3, inmate Demetrius Spires (890758) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the groin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Florida Women’s Reception Center: On August 3, inmate Whisper Parker (Y56220) assaulted four officers by kicking, scratching and biting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries.

Dade Correctional Institution: On August 4, inmate Casey McQuade (F40098) assaulted an officer by kicking them in the abdomen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Lowell Annex: On August 4, inmate Christina Rial (M28679) assaulted an officer by throwing a food tray, striking them in the abdomen. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Wakulla Annex: On August 4, two officers were assaulted. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officers and noted injuries. For more information, visit our Newsroom.

Lake Correctional Institution: On August 4, inmate Calvin Reed (116104) assaulted an officer by pushing them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On August 5, inmate Albert Gardner (U51229) assaulted two officers by elbowing one in the face, and scratching a responding officer. Additional staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
