Florida Correctional Officer Arrested

JASPER, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections’ (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrest of Correctional Sergeant Tara Simpson. Simpson is charged with unlawful compensation.

Following the arrest, Simpson was transported to the Lowndes County Jail. The OIG acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia and State Attorney Jeff Siegmeister of the 3rd Judicial Circuit of Florida.
