FDC Celebrates TAILS Graduation at Baker Re-Entry Center

If you would like to attend, please contact the Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of Communications as soon as possible at (850) 488-0420. Attendees will need to complete and submit a media background access form. No video or photos may be taken without prior consent and approval of Department staff at the event.

WHAT:
Media are invited to the Teaching Animals and Inmates Life Skills (TAILS) graduation ceremony. The TAILS program brings together rescue dogs from the non-profit organization Pit Sisters and inmates from Baker Correctional Institution Re-Entry Center for obedience training. Graduating dogs are crate trained, housebroken, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and micro-chipped.

WHY:
Through programs like TAILS, the Department of Corrections focuses on teaching inmates valuable job skills that will lead them to productive employment and law-abiding lives upon release.

DIRECTIONS:
From I-10, take Exit 324 (US-90 West) approximately 1 mile. The Institution will be on the left.
From I-75, take Exit 427 (US-90) approximately 20 miles. The Institution will be on the right.
