FDC Continues Normal Operations
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) continues normal operations in all of our institutions across the state.
Despite recent reports, prisons and institutions across the state have had no interruption to daily operations. There were no inmate work stoppages or strikes.
There were two instances of citizen protests outside of the Reception and Medical Center and FDC’s headquarters office. For our statement regarding the protest at our headquarters, Official FDC Statement.

As Florida's largest state agency, the Department of Corrections employs 24,000 members statewide, incarcerates approximately 96,000 inmates and supervises nearly 166,000 offenders in the community.
