Former Correctional Officer Arrested Following OIG Investigation

JASPER, Fla. - On June 13, the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) Office of Inspector General arrested former correctional officer Melanie Beck following an OIG criminal investigation. Beck has been charged with introduction of contraband, unlawful compensation and official misconduct.

Following the arrest, Beck was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. The FDC Office of the Inspector General acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office in the 3rd Judicial Circuit.
