This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
MALONE, Fla. - On January 4, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Jackson Correctional Institution.
At approximately 9:38 a.m. EDT, Inmate Willie Lightfoot (663180) brandished a makeshift weapon and stabbed an officer in the hand and shoulder. Staff responded appropriately to subdue the inmate.
Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Lightfoot will receive a disciplinary report for this assault. The Department of Corrections' Office of Inspector General will fully investigate this incident.
